Message from the Chairman and Secretary
Welcome to Ramadan 2011

Baitul Aman Mosque & Cultural Centre welcomes you to the blessed month of Ramadan 2011. It is a time for fasting, reflection, prayer and charity. Allah has made fasting in Ramadan Fard for the Muslims in order to purify our hearts and mind and instill in us self-discipline and self-control. The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: “When the month of Ramadan begins, the gates of Paradise are opened, the gates of Hell are closed and the devils are chained.” [Reported by Bukhari and Muslim]

Ramadan is the leader of all months; the month of the Qur’an; the month of forgiveness, the month of charity and generosity. Ibn Abbas described that the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) was the most generous of people, and even more so during the month of Ramadan. Whenever he gave, he gave in plenty, as if he had no fear of poverty. He would never be asked of anything except that he gave it, unless he did not have it.

Ramadan is a month of charity and charity only brings reward and blessings. Charity does not decrease our wealth. Therefore, we appeal to you to take advantage of this month and spend your precious time in Ibadah, reflection and in charity.

We will be raising fund for the Baitul Aman Mosque & Cultural Centre to start construction work for a permanent mosque. We are doing a live TV appeal on the 12 Ramadan (Friday 12th August 2011) in Channel S(SKY 814). Please watch in and donate generously in the month of Ramadan.
